Monday 26th October 2016 Wimbledon Odeon held its opening screening night of the story of Dr Siyana Shaffi, one of the founding members of Muslim Women of Merton. Siyana, a GP, mother of five and humanitarian aid worker with refugees on the Greek Island of Lesbos spoke about her life and experience as part of 1000 londoners – a project that aims to tell the story of 1000 londoners through their own words.
The 3 minute film was also aired at theWimbledon bookfest and All England Lawn Tennis Association this autumn and can be accessed at the following link:
